Abstract
This manuscript represents the proceedings of a symposium at the 1999 Research Society on Alcoholism meeting in Santa Barbara, California. The organizer/chair was Deborah Deas. The presentations were (1) Developmental Considerations in Assessing Adolescent Alcohol Users, by Paula Riggs; (2) Similarities and Differences Between Adults and Adolescents Alcohol Users, by James Langenbucher; (3) Adolescent Obsessive Compulsive Drinking Scale (A‐OCDS)—A Measure of Drinking Thoughts and Urges in Adolescents/Young Adults, by Deborah Deas; and (4) Expectancies and Drinking in Adolescents: Findings and Theoretical Processes, by Mark Goldman. The research presented in this symposium was supported by Grants AA00247 and P50AA08746 from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism and Grants 3R01DA05688, K0200390, DA00271, and DA11015 from the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
