Abstract
In this compilation of short essays and reflections, introduced by Christa Jansohn, six established literary and cultural scholars share their stories and experiences of teaching at U.S. American institutions in the midst of the pandemic of 2020. They discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by radically different modes of teaching and interacting with students and colleagues; they ask what has been lost and gained; and they offer broader perspectives on the nature of the American society itself in the light of a “new normal.”
