Guideway Transit, Census Data, Joumoy-to-work, Socioeoonomic, Employment, Population, Guideway Cities, Urbanized Areas
This report is one of three data books prepared as part oi the study titled Guideway Transit and Intermodalism: Function and Effectiveness. This data book provides a comprehensive overview of demographic, journey-to-work, employment, economic, and geographic characteristics for U.S. urbanized areas with guideway transit. Data extracted from the 1990 U.S. Census are compiled into two major sections. The transit section compares all the urbanized areas through a series of data rankings. The characteristics of each urbanized area are profiled graphically in the second section. This report is intended to serve as a reference book for urbanized areas currently operating fixed guideway systems, as well as for those urbanized areas contemplating fixed guideway investments.
