Author Biography

Catherine Keohane teaches writing and literature at Montclair State University. A specialist in eighteenth-century literature and culture, she has published articles on Frances Burney, Sarah Scott, and Ann Yearsley as well as on the seventeenth-century poet Aemilia Lanyer. Her current book project examines eighteenth-century depictions of charity in didactic and imaginative literature to explore the implications of form for promoting and challenging gender and class ideology.
