Abstract
The process of adaptation, or rendering one source text into another medium, is an activity fraught with potential for cultural appropriation, exploitation, or the feeling of "lost in translation." When adapting canonical works into digital terrains, these scenarios have an even higher impact, because the digital itself (as we conceive of it as 21st century Westerners) carries with it so much ideological baggage. In this project, students will demonstrate an ability to work with advanced computer technologies in order to remediate canonical works into new digital forms.
